Chunky Pandey: “The Black Lady Has Finally Come Home”

At  the  moment  the  proudest father in  the Indian  film industry is  Chunky Pandey.  His daughter Ananya has won the Filmfare award  for  best debutante in Student  Of  The  Year 2  and Pati Patni Aur Woh.

And  Chunky just can’t stop preening. 

“My wife and I are  overjoyed. This  is the  first Filmfare  trophy in our home. The feeling can’t be put  into  words,” says Chunky  who has been  a Bollywood actor  for three decades but  has never  received any awards.

“I have been  acting for  34  years. I made my debut in Pahlajji(Nihalani)’s Aag Hi Aag. I never  got an award,though I  was nominated four times.So finally  the  Black Lady comes  home,” says Chunky happily.

Is  Ananya  more  serious about her career than her  father ever was?

Chuckles Chunky, “She’s more focused  on her career that I ever was, that’s for sure.She’s  a faster  learner too. As for  the award, I am  far more pleased with her getting  an award that I’d have been if I had got one.”

Chunky  in his heyday worked in hit films like Aankhen, Tezaab,  Vishwatma and  Paap Ki Duniya. His daughter Ananya who made her  debut in 2019 already  has two hits  Student Of The Year 2  and  Pati Patni Aur Who to her credit.

Buzz is that Karan Johar plans to  cast Chunky Pandey as  his own  daughter’s  father  in  a forthcoming  poject.
