CBFC’s New Office Opens In Peddar Road

On roads on Tuesday afternoon from Bollywood led to to the new censor board office in Peddar Road. Amitabh Bachchan arrived on the dot at 4 pm to inaugurate the event

Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) now has a new office at the 9th Floor, Films Division in Pedder Road, Mumbai. The state-of-the-art facility was inaugurated by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and Hon. Ajay Mittal, Secretary, I&B Ministry. The ‘Samay Diya’ was lit by both the gentlemen along the CBFC Chairperson, Mr. Pahlaj Nihalani and a host of other celebrities including Mr. Anupam Kher, Ms. Raveena Tandon, Mr. Sonu Sood and Mr. Kiran Shantaram.

The event was well attended by filmmakers and professionals from other social, political, defense and regulatory backgrounds. The CBFC was planning an expansion of premise ever since 1952. In the fortnight, the CBFC also launched an online certification portal. Both these initiatives are towards efficiency and transparency enhancement.
