Deepika and Salman Khan Still Not Together
Salman Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are all set to come together again after the ill-fated Saawariya in 2007 . In Hum…Dil De Chuke Sanam and Saawariya Salman’ didn’t get the girl at the end. In Hum… Ajay Devganwalked away with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Hopefully this time in Bhansali’s Inshallah Salman would get the girl. But it won’t to be Bhansali’s blue-eyed girl Deepika Padukone but Alia Bhatt.
Sources say Bhansali was keen to cast Khan and Padukone in Inshallah. But Deepika’s dates didn’t work out.
It must be remembered that Deepika’s pairing with Salman is an occurrence waiting to happen for a very long time. The two were supposed to come together in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick 5 years ago. But Deepika opted out, as there wasn’t enough for her to do in the film.This “snub” angered Salman and nothing tangible was heard about this much-desired pairing after that.
It is significant, if somewhat inevitable, that Bhansali should be the one who tried to bring this untried pair to the screen. The director’s other favourite actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was keen to feature in his next.With Salman, with whom she vowed never to act after Hum…Dil De Chuke Sanam, cast in the lead as Bhansali’s next hero, the heroine had to be anyone but Aishwarya.
And who better than Deepika with whom Bhansali has created magic thrice over in Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani andPadmaavat. He has worked the same number of times with Salman in Khamoshi: The Musical, Hum…Dil De ChukeSanam and Saawariya.
Sadlythe pair didn’t work out again. Better luck next time.
