There have been dedicated pockets of protest against a sequence showing the holy event of Moharram allegedly in a “poor light” in Milap Jhaveri’s Satyamev Jayate.
Now the producers have decided to edit out the sequence that has offended some even before the film is submitted to the Central Board Of Film Certification.
“The producers T Series and Nikhil Advani feel it’s better not to wait for the censor redlight when it comes to religious sentiments. They will remove the Moharram sequence even before the film goes to the censor board,” says the informed source.
This won’t be the first time that a film has succumbed to extraneous pressures regarding the content. Recently films like Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat and Anubhav Sinha’s Mulk have been similarly cornered.
