According to domestic media, the victim’s sister said their family lived in Guangzhou. In 2024, Huang met Little Chu at a billiards hall. The sister recalled their first meeting: “She dressed very provocatively, with bags and jewelry all branded, but they looked fake.” Little Chu introduced herself as being from Fujian, with parents working as officials and the family investing in multiple places.
Despite recognizing her deception, the sister couldn’t understand why her brother was so infatuated: “Little Chu deliberately created a luxurious image, while my brother was completely blinded.”

After starting a relationship, Little Chu continuously “brainwashed” her boyfriend, claiming her family had business in Myanmar and invited him to work there. On February 2, Huang secretly flew with Little Chu to Bangkok, Thailand, and then to the border region between the two countries.
However, upon arrival, Little Chu made an excuse to pick someone else up and disappeared.
“My brother said the people who came to pick him up were armed and confiscated his passport and phone. Only when he begged to borrow Little Chu’s phone could he send a message to our family. We immediately contacted the police,” the sister said.
Huang was then taken to another location. There, his head was shaved, and he was forced to participate in scams. If he didn’t meet targets, he would be beaten with iron rods, slapped, or locked in a dark room. The manager said they had spent 100,000 RMB (approximately $15,200) to buy him from Little Chu, so he had to “generate profit.”

Each day, Huang had to work 16–20 hours on minimal food and endured constant torture. Over months, he lost over ten kilograms and was beaten to the point of hearing loss. Because he failed to deceive anyone, he was even required to repay the money before being released.
Finally, with assistance from the Myanmar Business Association, the family negotiated with the fraud group and paid 350,000 RMB (approximately $53,200). Huang was lucky to return to China in June.
Little Chu was apprehended by Chinese authorities after returning from Thailand. According to the victim’s family, the 17-year-old is now facing charges of fraud and will soon stand trial.
“Our whole family hopes the court punishes her severely. She’s only 17, but who would have thought she could do something so cruel,” the sister said.
