4 Days Ahead Of Release Rangoon Makers Prune  Film By 

In a hush-hush operation—we can call it Operation Rangoon—the  director Vishal Bhardwaj and his team have re-edited the eagerly-awaited film and brought down its length by nearly 20 minutes.The original length of the film after being censored was 2 hours 47 minutes

This radical change, after the film was certified by the censor board , is being carried out to make the film tighter in the storytelling and more viewer-friendly.

Says a  source close to the development, “Everyone in the team feels Rangoon has turned out very special and the length does not sit heavily on the film. But at nearly 3 hours of playing time the film was seen to be way too long for today’s generations. Vishal and his producers Sajid Nadiadwala and Viacom 18 have voluntarily decided to bring the length down by more than half an hour.”
