5 Forthcoming Films That Will Chase Your Blues Away

We really need laughter in  our lives. Though the tense dramas are welcome, here are the  forthcoming funny-shows that will tickle your funnybones.

1.     Sardar Ka  Grandson: Kashvie Nair makes her  directorial debut with this  warm inviting  family tale of a grandmother Neena Gupta and her grandson Arjun Kapoor plotting and planning to  bring Lahore into Amritsar. Sounds  outrageous? This family comedy with a large ensemble cast  of outstanding comic actors  will have  you  smiling chuckling and  sometimes  wiping a tear when it premiers on Netflix  on May 13.

2.     Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui: Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor in  a  rom-com set  in Chandigarh promise  to liven  up our lives with loads  of laughter. Abhishek Kapoorwho earlier  directed the  cult  hit Kai Po Che  abandons  his  somber tone from his recent  films to  have  himself a wild time. Abhishek says he is never enjoyed himself more making any other  film. If laughter is  the  best medicine this  one is the Covid vaccine.

3.     Jayeshbhai Jordaar: Gujarati  humour  transposed into Bollywood with  Ranveer Singh playing a  Gujju for the first time. Sounds like a laugh riot? It is. Those who  have seen rushes say Ranveer’s  comic timing has never been so well tapped. He  plays  a man  who  gets  bogged down by the gender  equation every  time he tries to prove women are equal to men. Directed  by Divyang Thakkar, a well-known director in  Gujarati cinema, this  Yash Raj film will release on 27 August in  theatres only.(Yashraj won’t bite  the digital bait).

4.     Bhoot Police:  The comedy-horror genre gets  its  frisky fillip  from director Pavan  Kriplani’s Stree-Meets-Roohi  scare-farce.  Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Yami Gautam and Javed Jaffrey come together for what Saif describes as one of   the funniest  films he has ever done.To release  in  theatres  on 10 September.

5.     Bhool Bhulaiya 2: Funnier than the first  Bhool Bhulaiya, the sequel  according to director Anees Bazmi is  absolutely wild. This is  kuch-bhi-ho-sakta-hai territory .The laughter  never stops. Kartik Aaryan’s comic timing  already much talked-about after Punchnaama,Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and  Luka Chuppi here reaches a crescendo of comicality.  In his  laughter-filled company even the prim and proper Tabu lets  het hair down. Release  date to be announced. But  expected at the end  of the year.
