on

  1. Shah Rukh Khan celebrated womanhood in all its feminine glory from Sharmila Tagore to Madhuri Dixit to Kareena Kapoor Khan to Katrina Kaif to…errr, Karan  Johar. Kareena referred to Karan and Arjun Kapoor as ‘divas’. Karan looked thrilled. But Arjunwas aghast.
  2. Sport Of The  awards function would be Arjun Kapoor who said he he wouldn’t mind sharing the award with  Kareena since he never got any himself.
  3. In the audience Kareena’s mother-in-law Sharmila Tagore beamed. She was soon on stage being honoured by Shah Rukh Khan with a ritzy remix of Roop tera mastana and some really cheesy flirtatious lines. But then Sharmila is Sharmila. And to have her on stage being honoured as an iconic woman was a dream come true.
  4. Jackie Shroff gave away the award to Sharmila. He invited the dimpled diva to receive  the award on  the stage . Jaggu Dada sand Isharon isharon mein from Kashmir Ki Kali. One question  why couldn’t the award be given by a co-star of Sharmila? Say, Dharmendra since the other favourites Rajesh Khanna and Sanjeev Kumar are no more and Shashi Kapoor is confined to a wheelchair.
  5. It was the battle of the dimples on stage when SRK looked adoringly at Ms Tagore and said, ‘You are the hottest babe I’ve ever seen.’  The no-nonsense actress looked frankly scandalized for a split second. She then caught herself being disapproving and decided to go along with the fun.
  6. DeepikaPadukone shared some fun moments with co-hosts KaranJohar and Shah Rukh Khan. She dedicated her award to her ‘team’ . Karan cracked  jokes about  Deepika’s leg-revealing gown, and then cracked jokes about being a regular at awards functions and about fantasizing about men….irrelevant since the event was dedicated to beautiful divas down the ages.
  7. Katrina Kaif made the best and shortest speech of the evening when she said being deemed desirable was very fine. But there was more to being a woman then being desirable. Attagirl.
  8. At the end Shah Rukh found himself on stage with screen divas of all generations from Sharmila Tagore to Sridevi to Madhuri to Katrina. And when he did a specially worded versions of the Hai re jabra fan ho gaya for all the divas, we felt the magic of Indian cinema explode on stage as  experienced through these iconic beauties of the ages.Breathtaking.
