Speaking with TVLine and Variety, the actress reflected on the emotional and physical toll of the storyline, explaining that Athena’s confrontation with loss and survival will define the next phase of her and Hen’s journeys in Season 9. Hinds said, “It was certainly an incredibly traumatic experience… now we’re even more fortified. What on Earth could really stop us at this point?”
In the episode, Athena volunteers to repair the damaged spacecraft, insisting Hen must survive for her family. Hinds noted that this moment represented “the fabric of their friendship,” emphasizing the contrast between Athena’s despair and Hen’s determination to live.
