Will Karan Johar’s Dhadak Break The Sanju Spell?

As Raj Kumar Hirani’s  Sanjay Dutt bio-pic storms  the  boxoffice no new Hindi releases  are planned for the next  two weeks.

The  next big Hindi release is Dhadak on July 20 the Hindi remake  of Sairat, Marathi cinema’s most successful film of all times, which will bring to  Bollywood  the late Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi  Kapoor  and  Ishaan Khattar Shahid Kapoor’s immensely gifted  sibling.

The film’s co-producer Zee Studios and Dharma Productions   will spare  no expenses  to ensure the  film reaches out to an optimum audience.

But the problem now is the  unexpected  magnitude  of  the success  of  Sanju.

Says a source  affiliated  closely to  the production  of Dhadak. “Of course it’s a concern. Sanju is  bigger than anyone’s expectation. We now  wonder if it will affect the  audience for Dhadak.”
Karan  Johar is in a fix since both  Sanju and Dhadak are dear to him.

Says a  close friend  of  Karan’s, “Though Sanju is not  produced by Karan he is very close to the  film’s leading man and also very fond of Raj Kumar Hirani . So  yes, he is concerned about Dhadak . But he’s  also very happy for the Sanju team.”
