On the auspicious occasion of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, leading content studio Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company have announced their association for Raja Shivaji, a magnum opus directed by Riteish Deshmukh and featuring him in the titular role. This bilingual (Marathi & Hindi) historical action drama is set to bring to life the extraordinary journey of a young Shivaji who rebelled against the mighty powers to be and eventually went on to become the revered Raja Shivaji and establish Swarajya.
The epic saga brings together a collaboration of creative powerhouses with Jio Studios, India’s premier content studio joining forces with celebrated actors Riteish and Genelia’s Mumbai Flim Company. The music will be composed by music maestros Ajay–Atul, while cinematography will be helmed by iconic visual storyteller Santosh Sivan, marking his debut in Marathi cinema.
