If you’re like me and are a big fan of the spear in The First Berserker: Khazan, there are a couple excellent sets for the mid- and late-game that are absolutely essential in putting together the best spear build. You’ll want to incorporate the Deep Shadow Set early, as these set pieces are available much sooner than the set you’ll want to use after defeating some of the later bosses. However, the Crushed Dreams set is the best spear option, and becomes available after defeating Maluca, one of the most difficult bosses you have to beat before unlocking Khazan’s Phantom power.
The spear is a fast, piercing weapon that features the Moonlight Stance, which gives Khazan afterimage effects and has some of the best guard-breaking skills in the game. Spears are good for a range of situations and enemy types, and can defeat any of the many bosses in First Berserker: Khazan. All three weapon types scale with particular stats as well, with the spear’s main stats being Proficiency and Willpower. Overall, the spear build is straightforward once you gain access to the core gear sets to be able to craft various items at the Blacksmith in The First Berserker: Khazan.

The 90% Guard Penetration increase is extremely useful for bosses such as Volbaino, and will help deplete stamina in the fight against Rangkus and Maluca as well. The overall increase to Assault and Frontal Assault attacks synergize extremely well with the skills you’ll be incorporating in your build. Finally, the six-piece set bonus increases damage for your Afterimage Thrust, which will be employed regularly against all types of enemies. You can pick up the Deep Shadow Scroll to craft items in the set during the Devoured Village mission in El Ravaca Village.
The Crushed Dreams Set Is Ideal For Late-Game Spear Builds
While the Deep Shadow Set is excellent, the Crushed Dreams Set takes things up a notch, with a seven set-piece bonus. This set is more powerful and includes a ring as well, Elamein’s Ring, but this item cannot be found by defeating enemies – it can only be crafted once you acquire the Crushed Dreams Scroll during the Transcendental Sword bonus mission in Darion Castle. Aside from the ring, the pieces include the Crushed Dreams Spear, Mask, Pauldrons, Wristguards, Leggings, and Gaiters.

With four, you’ll increase electrocution damage by 15%, and with five pieces equipped you can grant Khazan Lightning attributes for 10 seconds after a brink guard. Finally, you’ll learn Furious Drive with seven set pieces equipped, which is an excellent Shrewd spear skill. The Crushed Dreams spear has a fixed attribute that increases damage for ten seconds on a brink guard.
Best Skills & Stats For A Spear Build In Khazan
Spears Scale With Willpower & Proficiency
In terms of stats, you’ll want to invest in the main Spear-scaling options. The best stat for spears is Proficiency, which also increases maximum health (slightly), attack damage, stamina damage, and decreases dodge stamina cost. You’ll want to spend most of your points here and in Endurance to make sure you have the stamina available for dodges and guarding. Secondary scaling for spears is through Willpower, which increases stamina recovery, and decreases guard stamina damage taken.
