The BBC renews a critically acclaimed crime thriller for a third season. The UK-based public broadcaster is known for offering gripping crime thrillers, including the widely praised Yorkshire crime drama Happy Valley, which ran from 2015 to 2023, and the suspenseful British police procedural Line of Duty led by Martin Compston, Vicky McClure, and Adrian Dunbar.

The network is also behind the Cillian Murphy-led period crime drama, Peaky Blinders, which has achieved international popularity in addition to winning many awards. More recently, the Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer-headlined series, Killing Eve, which sees an assassin and a spy in a cat-and-mouse game as they become obsessed with each other, became a hit on numerous streaming platforms. A recent report also revealed that the network is in the process of developing a shadowy Killing Eve prequel titled Honey.

The top-rated British crime series is establishing itself as one of the best shows on the BBC. In the same report, the director of the BBC drama, Lindsay Salt, teased that the upcoming season of The Capture will live up to the reputation established in the previous two seasons with an “irresistible blend of timely, state-of-the-nation commentary” and “edge-of-your-seat thrills,” promising that the upcoming season will “dazzle and terrify” fans.

Similarly, Chanan, who penned the script, has revealed that someone, namely, DI Nadia Latif, will find the role reversed as she finds herself being “at the heart of the conspiracy” following her investigation. Meanwhile, Grainger shared that the script is “electrifying as ever.” It sounds like season 3 has a lot in store and even more thrilling stories to tell. With the series showing a record of climbing reception, The Capture season 3 won’t disappoint.
