The new “General Hospital” trailer for the week of June 2-6 teases an explosive showdown between Michael (Rory Gibson) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) as they battle for custody of their two children in court.
The official X account for the daytime drama posted a teaser full of juicy soap drama, where new secrets come to light, and lines are drawn.
General Hospital Drops Action-Packed Trailer
In a post captioned “…this baby is coming!” the new trailer begins with a full-blown staredown between Michael and Willow as they gear up for an emotional battle in court.
Following that are rapid-fire glimpses of familiar faces, including Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), who appear to be serving as witnesses for the custody hearing.
As tension builds, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) drops a bombshell — Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is the person behind Drew Quartermaine being drugged.
Things then hit a fever pitch when Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) questions Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson), prompting Michael to explode and rush to her defense. The 15-second trailer ends with Sasha potentially in early labor as she cries, “It’s too soon.”
The trailer has built excitement for fans who can’t wait to watch the new episodes.
“Dark Michael came to play! I’m here for it!” one X user wrote.
A New Week, a New Recast
As previously reported by TVLine, the role of Michael Corinthos has been officially recast, with Rory Gibson taking over the role from Chad Duell.
Duell played the role for nearly 15 years and left to pursue new opportunities or “next chapters,” saying he felt “stagnant” in his life, per People.
Gibson is taking over the role of Michael Corinthos at a tumultuous time in the character’s life. After finding out that his wife slept with his uncle, Corinthos was severely burned in a bomb explosion meant for his mobster father, Sonny (Maurice Bernard).
The character is now caught in a tense battle with his ex over custody of their two young children.
However, Gibson is no stranger to the daytime drama world, having previously starred as Noah Newman on “The Young & The Restless” from 2021-2023.
“General Hospital” airs weekdays on ABC at 3 p.m. and streams nightly on Hulu.
