Sterling K. Brown’s wife, Ryan Michelle Bathé, has joined the cast of Paradise season 2. Brown plays the protagonist Xavier Collins and is an executive producer for the hit Hulu series helmed by This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman. Paradise season 1 ended with Xavier leaving the underground community behind and heading to the outside world to find his wife, Teri Rogers-Collins (Enuka Okuma), after learning about her survival.
According to Variety, Brown’s real-life wife, Bathé, has now been cast as a guest star in Paradise season 2. Details about her character have not been revealed yet. After the season 1 finale aired on March 4, there was a quick turnaround to filming the next season, with Fogelman posting that filming had begun on March 28. Several behind-the-scenes photos have been shared by the cast and crew as production continues for season 2.

Season 2 Features Another This Is Us Reunion
Bathé joins the growing cast of Paradise season 2, which has already added Shailene Woodley, Thomas Doherty, Timothy Omundson, and Michael McGrady in recurring roles. Their characters are reportedly individuals that Xavier will encounter on the surface as he searches for Teri. With Bathé being a guest star, she will have a smaller role and may only appear in an episode or two. It remains to be seen if she will be another survivor Xavier crosses paths with on the surface or if she will be a new character introduced in the underground community.

While they did not share any scenes together, Brown and Bathé worked on Fogelman’s This Is Us as well. Brown played the adult Randall Pearson, while Bathé played Yvette, who was the mother of a friend that young Randall makes at the pool. She gave some valuable advice and became friendly with Randall’s parents, Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) as well. Bathé appeared in four This Is Us episodes and is now set to reunite with Brown and Fogelman in Paradise season 2.

She Should Have Scenes With Xavier
Yvette being involved in Randall’s childhood was a nice touch in This Is Us, but she and the adult Randall never had the opportunity to interact. Paradise season 2 can make up for this missed opportunity by having Xavier and Bathé sharing at least one scene together. As Xavier searches for his wife, it would be fun for Brown to have scenes with his real-life wife, regardless of whether her character proves to be an ally or adversary during his mission.
