A Shocking Death In Sex & The City's Revival Show Finally Brought Out This Character's Best Story

Warning! SPOILERS For And Just Like That Season 3, Episode 6, “Silent Mode”

A tragic death in Sex and the City’s revival series led to one of the new And Just Like That characters’ most poignant stories. When Sarah Jessica Parker reprised her iconic Carrie Bradshaw for the revival, several new characters joined the cast of And Just Like That, along with original actors Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon as Charlotte and Miranda.

Only two of the four added characters remain, with Che Diaz (Sarah Ramirez) and Nya Wallace (Karen Pittman) not returning for And Just Like That season 3. The shift has given more room for characters like Seema Patel (Sarita Choudhury) and Lisa Todd Wesley (Nicole Ari Parker) to shine, with “Silent Mode” giving Lisa her best story yet.

27 Years Later, Sex And The City’s Revival Show Finally Gives Carrie Bradshaw A Story I Never Thought Would Happen After The OG Series & Movies

Carrie is finally getting this story in Sex and the City’s revival as she navigates life alongside Aidan Shaw in And Just Like That season 3.

Lawrence’s fate leads to Lisa’s conflict with his theater partner, Lucille Highwater (Jenifer Lewis), who plans a ceremony for Lisa’s dad, complete with music from Pippin. Amid her allotted three-minute eulogy, LTW confesses that her father was always there for everybody else and, in the end, she wasn’t there for him. It’s an emotional moment for Lisa, strengthening the character.

After the ceremony, Herbert’s (Christopher Jackson) mother, Eunice (Pat Bowie), softens to her daughter-in-law, bestowing comforting wisdom upon her about missing her father’s death. The moment is heartfelt and emboldens Lisa’s connections outside the main cast, giving her a stronger foothold in the show. While it was a sad moment for Lisa, she pulled emotional weight, which Parker’s character needed.

LTW still requires more connection to the rest of the cast, but “Silent Mode” at least continued building her connection to Charlotte. York Goldenblatt is the first person that Lisa calls to discuss her father’s death. Charlotte is, as always, an incredibly supportive friend, and the moment causes Harry’s (Evan Handler) wife to reflect on the fragility of her circumstances.

A character known for having it all together, Charlotte breaks down when she sees Carrie at Walgreens, finally telling someone about Harry’s cancer.

Charlotte pleaded with Harry to be present at every moment. While Harry was only somewhat receptive, York’s vulnerability led to one of her best stories. A character known for having it all together, Charlotte breaks down when she sees Carrie at Walgreens, finally telling someone about Harry’s cancer, and it’s her most emotional And Just Like That moment so far.
