Lee Dong Wook, Oh Na Ra, Ryu Hye Young add a dose of humor with quirky sibling dynamics in 'Nice Guy

The Nice Guy released a new teaser.

The Nice Guy tells the story of Park Seok Cheol (Lee Dong Wook), the eldest grandson of a third-generation gangster family who strives to protect his loved ones.

The teaser captures the family dynamics between Park Seok Cheol (Lee Dong Wook), Park Seok Kyung (Oh Na Ra), Park Seok Hee (Ryu Hye Young), and Park Sil Gon (Cheon Ho Jin), who, though don’t get along well, are too close to resent each other.

The teaser commences with Park Seok Kyung and Park Seok Hee bickering over trivial things like a pair of socks. Though chaotic, the moment someone else messes with their family, they quickly band together to protect one another. Just like Kang Mi Young says, “Whenever things get tough, they’re the first ones I think of. Maybe it’s fate.”

Even in relationships tied by fate, wounds that linger are inevitable. Park Seok Cheol’s resentful words to his father — “Do you know why I even started doing this?” — hint at a complicated father-son story drenched with regret.

Scenes showing Seok Cheol’s attempts to break free from a gangster legacy passed down for three generations, Park Sil Gon grappling with remorse of having led his son into a life of crime, overlaid by the text “Too close to resent, a story that might be just like any of ours” heightens expectations for a relatable narrative woven with threads of noir.

The Nice Guy is coming July 18. The K-drama will be streaming on Disney+ and Hulu (select regions). Watch the teaser here
