Following two successful installments that instantly got both critics and the audience raving with reviews, School Spirits was renewed for a third run. The new season was announced in March, with production kicking off last month, but an exact premiere date has yet to be announced. Nevertheless, we’ve learned that the teen drama will return to Paramount+ sometime in 2026, and we have some exciting Season 3 details that will definitely pique fans’ interest as the countdown begins.
School Spirit Season 3 officially went into production on July 21, and as work progresses, Paramount+ has unveiled the installment’s plot details, teasing a perilous journey ahead for Maddie. According to the official logline per TVLine, Maddie “must face the dangerous mystery behind Split River High School in order to save her best friend who might be lost forever.” That best friend, of course, is Simon, who found himself in spiritual limbo at the end of Season 2.
Another delightful update from the fictional town of Split River is a first look at the new villain who is headed to Split River High. Portrayed by Academy Award nominee Jennifer Tilly, the character was added to School Spirit’s third chapter last month to shake things up at the high school. Tilly recurs as superintendent Dr. Deborah Hunter-Price, who fans can see in a new Instagram post from the actress herself amid production. “Look out, Split River High! There’s a new b*tch in town,” she captioned a photo from the show’s Vancouver set on August 4, unveiling herself in character and looking not so friendly.
