Every Dandadan Manga Arc Yet to Be Animated, Ranked by Story Depth

The Dandadan anime has completely adapted five arcs from the manga. At the time of writing this article, season 2 of Dandadan is adapting the Kaiju arc. The manga has a total of 11 completed arcs with a 12th one that is currently ongoing.

Thus, here is a list of the unadapted arcs from the Dandadan manga, which have been ranked according to the depth of their storylines and emotional weight. The currently ongoing 12th arc has not been included since it has not reached a conclusion yet.

6 Typhoon Human Arc

This arc shows the return of the Kito family from the Evil Eye arc. At the same time, a UMA in the form of a sentient typhoon was teleported by the Serpo, who feared Momo’s powers. The Typhoon Human tries to take down the plane carrying the Dandadan family. It is an arc that connects past events to the current storyline. It is a rather short arc with only some action.

5 Kozuka Knives Arc

This arc shows Momo, who has been targeted by Koki Yukishiro and is reduced to a tiny size. However, Koko was actually being made to assault Momo due to a teacher who was manipulating her. A shadowy mastermind is actually the one who wants to obtain Momo’s powers. While this arc is mysterious, it does not have much emotional weight to it.

4 Danmanra Arc

In this arc, Momo and Okarun find a mysterious game, and Momo gets transported into the world inside it. She has to play by its rules to escape and survive. The action in this arc is exciting, although it becomes a bit of a drag at one point. The backstory of Unji Zuma, the new character of this arc, is moving.

Unji’s traumatic childhood made him become a delinquent, but he actually protects other delinquents through his efforts. It is his story that adds emotional weight to the arc.

3 Onbusuman Arc

This arc is short but sweet and introduces Rin Sawaki, the class rep of Okarun and Momo, who is actually haunted by a yokai called Onbusuman. The arc delves into her tragic past as she has always cared for her family while sacrificing her dreams. The arc focuses on getting rid of the yokai possessing her, as well as her guilt.

2 Kaiju Arc

It is in the Kaiju arc that Dandadan expands its world to another planet. While aliens have always played a part in the story, this arc focuses on the oppressed creatures of another planet. The arc shows a kaiju who needs to be defeated, and a new character, Kinta, comes into play. However, the kaiju has a huge surprise awaiting them. The kaiju battle between the unknown monster and Kinta’s Power Rangers inspired kaiju is awesome.

1 Space Globalist Arc

This arc has the most serious and thrilling action in Dandadan. A major alien group tries to invade Earth, and it is up to the teenage protagonists to deter them. All the characters band together to fight the aliens, each proving their determination and powers. The sacrifices of some of the protagonists can move the audience once this arc is animated.

The storyline shows how Vamola and the rest of her species have suffered at the hands of other oppressive forces, and she might possibly be the only survivor. Vamola’s backstory adds more depth to the emotional weight of Dandadan. This is also the first arc in which Momo readily accepts her feelings for Okarun after a rude awakening.
