On August 28, G.NA posted on her social media, writing, “Hello, it’s been a while” along with a new photo. This marks her first personal update in nearly a year. Previously, she caused concern among fans with a cryptic message that read “Goodbye, world”, sparking worries about her well-being.
G.NA was sentenced to a fine in 2016 for engaging in overseas prostitution. She was accused of receiving 35 million KRW after having sexual relations with a Korean-American businessman in Los Angeles in April 2015, and later 15 million KRW from another businessman in Korea in July the same year.
Although she denied the allegations, claiming she had consensual relationships with the men, the court rejected her defense. She was fined 2 million KRW under Korea’s law on prostitution and solicitation, after which she halted her entertainment career.
Before the scandal, G.NA had been at the height of her popularity with hit songs such as “I’ll Get Lost, You Go Your Way,” “Black & White,” “Top Girl,” and “G.NA’s Secret.” Since then, she has been living a quiet life in Canada.
