Previously, in July 2024, Gunn revealed on the social media platform that Paradise Lost was in “active development” and not in production, as it wasn’t greenlit. The acclaimed filmmaker stressed that it wouldn’t enter production until he and DC Studios received a script and he approved it.
The development of a typical TV series usually takes between 12 to 18 months. Since Gunn confirmed the active development of Paradise Lost in July 2024 and began reviewing drafts in October 2024, it has been approximately six months to a year since the development process started. Therefore, it is likely that the development is nearing completion, and Gunn may be close to approving the script. As a result, production of the show is expected to commence by the end of this year or the beginning of next year, with another year needed for completion.
