Singer Kim Jong-kook shared an honest glimpse into his pre-wedding life on the September 7 episode of SBS’s My Little Old Boy.
In a teaser, he teased his love story, saying, “I’ll be honest about this one thing,” sparking viewer interest. Known for his rigorous self-discipline and frugality—so much so that people joke he “married exercise”—Kim Jong-kook revealed a softer side in his married life: “Life with my wife is different. I’ll respect and adapt to that.”
However, he admitted there was one exception. “We had a major fight only once,” he confessed. “It was over the exercise I love most.” Fellow cast members Kim Hee-chul and Kim Dong-hyun were visibly surprised.
The episode also hinted at details about his bride. Industry rumors suggest she is a CEO running a cosmetics business in Los Angeles. When Kim Hee-chul pressed him about it, Kim Jong-kook remained tight-lipped, keeping her identity largely private.
Kim Jong-kook tied the knot on September 5 in a private ceremony in Gangnam, Seoul, attended by fewer than 100 close family and friends. His longtime friend Yoo Jae-suk served as the MC, adding sentimental value to the occasion.
