It appears thatMetroid Prime 4: Beyond’s release date may be revealed far sooner than any of us expected, as new information has come to light pointing to an announcement any day now. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond was revealed to be coming to the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 in 2024 – after having been officially announced all the way back in 2017. However, we’ve still not had a firm release date of when we can expect it to grace Nintendo’s handheld platforms.
Fortunately, it looks like all that waiting will finally pay off, as Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has officially been rated in Brazil, as spotted by ‘Necro’ Felipe on X, bringing us one step closer to that coveted release date announcement. This rating comes at a rather crucial time, however, as it is right before the rumored Nintendo Direct. Of course, while all speculation should be taken with a grain of salt, this isn’t the first time Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has been rated, and that Nintendo Direct is looking extremely likely.

It Has Been Rated In Brazil

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond’s rating in Brazil is big news, as ratings typically happen close to a game’s official release date. Beyond was rated by the ESRB back in August and received a T for Teen rating thanks to animated blood, violence, and in-game purchases. Before that, it had been rated in July by the Game Rating and Administration Committee in South Korea. Of course, this all happened around the time Metroid Prime 4’s billboard blunder happened in London, which had given fans false hope.
However, this is completely official, and an expected part of the process, rather than an ad going out too early. While it doesn’t necessarily guarantee a release date will be revealed soon, it does hint towards Nintendo preparing it for its final release, as little else can be added without needing to have it reevaluated by the ratings boards. Naturally, a great occasion to announce Metroid Prime 4: Beyond’s release date would be at the rumored Nintendo Direct that is alleged to be happening in just a couple of days.

It Could Be Any Day Now

Nintendo’s unfortunate silence around Beyond has proven to be a point of frustration for many fans, especially those who have been waiting patiently for the game to come out since it was originally announced back in 2017. However, that could all change if Nintendo finally reveals its release date during the rumored Nintendo Direct, which is due to happen on Friday, September 12, and many suspect will be the biggest of the year.
Of course, there is no way of knowing exactly when Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will be released, but it will likely come out towards the end of the year, perhaps around the holiday season. Pokémon Legends: Z-A is releasing in mid-October, and Nintendo likely doesn’t want to undercut that with Metroid. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is releasing in mid-November, and so Nintendo may attempt to avoid that. As a result, it could be released in December 2025. Regardless, hopefully Nintendo will finally announce Metroid Prime 4: Beyond’s release date very soon.
