Lee Si Eon reveals he recruited Reply 1997' co-star Seo In Guk to current agency

Reply 1997 co-stars Lee Si Eon and Seo In Guk continue to showcase friendship, loyalty, and trust with each other even after 13 years.

On August 27, comedian Park Na Rae released her latest video on her YouTube show Naraeik with Reply 1997 co-stars Lee Si Eon and Seo In Guk as guests. Through one of their conversations, it was revealed that Lee Si Eon was the main reason why Seo In Guk is currently signed under Story J Company.

Lee Si Eon revealed that after Seo In Guk’s contract expired, he tried to connect him with his own agency’s CEO. Despite Seo In Guk initially declining the offer, Lee Si Eon persisted. He later arranged a seemingly coincidental meeting at actor Ko Kyu Pil‘s birthday party, where he convinced Seo In Guk to simply greet the CEO. The plan worked, and Seo In Guk eventually signed with Story J Company, becoming Lee Si Eon’s labelmate.

Lee Si Eon has been with Story J Company for 17 years, ever since his debut.

A few years after Seo In Guk signed with Story J Company, a worried and drunk Lee Si Eon asked him if he was having any problems at the agency. Seo In Guk assured him that he liked the company and had no complaints, causing Lee Si Eon to cry with relief.

Later on, Lee Si Eon revealed that he got a car tuning gift as a reward for recruiting Seo In Guk. He wittily ended the conversation with, “I should have brought 100 more artists, with the hope that they would give me a car.”

Lee Si Eon and Seo in Guk began their friendship after they starred together in the 2012 hit K-drama Reply 1997 with APINK’s Jung Eun Ji, Lee Ho Won, Shin So Yool, Eun Ji Won, and more. Ever since then, the two have continued their friendship.

Meanwhile, Seo In Guk is currently starring in the KBS K-drama Twelve with Ma Dong Seok, Park Hyung Sik, Sung Dong Il, Lee Joo Bin, and Ko Kyu Pil. He will also lead the upcoming series Boyfriend on Demand and Let’s Go to Work Tomorrow!

Lee Si Eon currently has no confirmed projects scheduled for 2025.
