Actors Lee Yi Kyung and Jung Jae Young are set to reunite in the upcoming film Generational Regret.
On September 2, it was officially confirmed that Lee Yi Kyung and Jung Jae Young are joining forces in the upcoming comedy film Generational Regret.
This will be the reunion of Lee Yi Kyung and Jung Jae Young after almost seven years. The two previously worked together in the K-drama Partners for Justice.
Generational Regret will tell the humorous story of a father and son with opposing goals. The father wants to protect his family from their ancestors’ rage, while the older son wants to exorcise him.
Aside from Lee Yi Kyung and Jung Jae Young, Kim Joo Ryoung, Kim Ah Young, and EXID’s Park Jeong Hwa will also join the cast of the upcoming film.
Generational Regret will be the next work of director Kim Seong Yoon, who also created the works The Sound of Magic, Itaewon Class, Love in the Moonlight, Who Are You: School 2015, and more.
The upcoming movie will begin filming in early September and is set to premiere next year.
Lee Yi Kyung will portray the role of Bong Deok, a man who repeatedly fails the seventh-grade civil service exam. He is determined to stop his father’s plans, even if it means attempting an exorcism.
Jung Jae Young will portray the role of Yong Byeong in the film. He will portray the role of a father who wants to give all of his money to a shaman just to appease his ancestors’ rage.
This will be the follow-up film of Lee Yi Kyung after Hitman 2 with Kwon Sang Woo, Jung Joon Ho, Hwang Woo Seul Hye, Lee Ji Won, and Han Ji Eun. Lee Yi Kyung is also set to star in the upcoming K-dramas Confidence Queen and It’s You, Out of the Blue.
Meanwhile, this will be the grand comeback of Jung Jae Young after three years. He last starred in the 2023 film Noryang: Deadly Sea with Kim Yoon Seok, Baek Yoon Shik, Huh Joon Ho, Kim Sung Kyu, and Lee Kyu Hyung. He also made a cameo appearance in the film Revolver.
