Warning: SPOILERS For Gen V Season 2Gen V star Sean Patrick Thomas discusses how season 2 sets up the fifth and final season of The Boys. Gen V season 2 returns to the campus of Godolkin University, where Marie Monroe (Jaz Sinclair), Jordan Li (London Thor/Derek Luh), and Emma Myers (Lizze Broadway) start sophomore year at the superhero college.
Meanwhile, Polarity (Sean Patrick Thomas) mourns his son, Andre Anderson (the late Chance Perdomo), whose fate is revealed at the onset of Gen V season 2. Polarity must choose a side in the rising tension between the Starlighters and the supporters of Homelander (Antony Starr) and Voight on Godolkin’s campus.
In an interview with ScreenRant‘s Joe Deckelmeier about Gen V season 2, Sean Patrick Thomas talks about what’s happening at Godolkin and how it will lead into The Boys season 5. Thomas hints at how the growing resistance at Godolkin is “strong… determined and unified.” Read Sean’s quote below:
ScreenRant: Now, Sean, without giving away any spoilers, how much does season 2 of Gen V set up the table for what fans can expect from The Boys season 5?
Sean Patrick Thomas: Well, I think what season 2 sets up is that there is a resistance that is strong, a resistance that is determined and unified, and it’s going to be an exciting thing to see where that leads. Will this unified front finally be able to make change and to take care of Homelander?
What Gen V’s Season 2’s Resistance Storyline Means For The Boys Season 5

In the first three episodes of Gen V season 2, a divide is growing on Godolkin University’s campus. Cipher (Hamish Linklater), Godolkin’s new Dean, is intent on preparing the superhuman student body for war with the humans.
Meanwhile, Starlight supporters at Godolkin are vandalizing the campus, writing ‘RESIST’ in grafitti over images of Homelander. This is stoking tensions between the students loyal to Vought and Homelander and the Starlighters, with helpless supes with various powers caught in the middle of potential violence.
As Sean Patrick Thomas hints, the resistance at Godolkin is only going to grow. It looks like the resistance will spread beyond Godolkin University and lead into the wider showdown coming between Homelander, the Seven, Starlight, and the Boys in the final season of The Boys.
