Actress Jun Ji-hyun showed her warm affection for co-star Kang Dong-won during a recent group interview for their Disney+ drama Tempest.
In the video shared by Taiwanese outlet ET Today on September 18, Jun Ji-hyun playfully teased Kang Dong-won: “He’s technically ‘oppa.’ We’re the same age, but his birthday is 10 months earlier.” Her lighthearted remark drew laughter from the cast.

She went on to explain the comfort of working with a peer: “It’s rare to meet an actor my age in this industry. It felt very reassuring. I’ve always liked Kang Dong-won, but through this project, I came to admire his personality as well. Filming with him was such a joy.”
Jun Ji-hyun also admitted she couldn’t stop talking about him at home: “Of course, it’s acting, but since he protects me so well in the drama, I loved it. I went home and bragged about him every day.”
Kang Dong-won responded with equal warmth: “Thank you. Having someone my age on set made it easier to share and connect. Jun Ji-hyun guided me a lot, and since my role was to protect her, I focused my acting around her character. Thanks to her, I looked forward to filming every day, wondering what fun moments we’d have.”
Their natural chemistry has become one of the highlights of Tempest, which follows UN ambassador Moon-joo (Jun Ji-hyun) and a mysterious special agent San-ho (Kang Dong-won) as they uncover a conspiracy threatening the Korean peninsula.
Episodes 6 and 7 of Polaris will be released exclusively on Disney+ on September 24.
