Jin Goo returns to MBC after 9 years through 'The Moon Flows over the River'

Jin Goo is returning to MBC after almost nine years.

On September 10, it was officially confirmed that Jin Goo will be part of the upcoming historical romance K-drama The Moon Flows over the RiverThis will be his return to the broadcast channel MBC after almost nine years. 

Jin Goo last starred in MBC in 2016 through the K-drama Night Light with Lee Yo Won, After School’s Uee, Jung Hae In, Jeon Gook Hwan, and Jung Han Yong

This will also be Jin Goo’s first official K-drama project for 2025. Last month, he made a cameo appearance in the K-drama My Lovely Journey, led by Gong Seung Yeon, Yoo Joon Sang, Kim Jae Yeong, Hong Soo Hyun, Oh Hyun Joong, and Yoo Ji Yeon

Jin Goo is best known for starring in the K-dramas The Auditors, The King of the Desert, Shadow Detective, A Superior Day, Mr. Sunshine, Descendants of the Sun, and more.

The Moon Flows over the River will tell the romance between a crown prince who lost his will to be happy, and swapped souls with an ordinary woman who lost her memory.

Jin Goo will work alongside Kang Tae Oh, Kim Se Jeong, Lee Shin Young, Hong Su Zu, and Kim Nam Hee in the upcoming K-drama. 

Director Lee Dong Hyeon, known for the works Bitter Sweet Hell, Doctor Lawyer, She Knows Everything, Less Than Evil, and more, will helm the upcoming series. 

Jin Goo will portray the role of Kim Han Cheol, a man who holds power over the King himself. He’s determined to take the throne of Joseon and will go so far as to sacrifice his own daughter to achieve his goal.

The Moon Flows over the River will begin airing on October 31 at 9:50 PM KST. It will have a total of 14 episodes and will be shown exclusively on MBC.
