Netflix unveils teaser for The Great Flood.
The Great Flood depicts the desperate fight to save a child after a great flood strikes Earth on its final day, as people struggle inside an apartment slowly getting submerged by water.
The teaser begins with an ordinary morning: Jain (Kwon Eun Seong) pesters his mother, AI researcher An Na (Kim Da Mi), to get up and go swimming together. But soon An Na sees the world getting submerged by a great flood, and as she reels from it, water continues to force its way into their home.
An Na exerts frantic efforts to carry Jain and evacuate while escaping the rapidly rising water. The enormous wave that swallows the apartment that was so peaceful just the day before, and the rising water evoke a realistic sense of fear.
Meanwhile, Hee Jo (Park Hae Soo), a personal security team personnel deployed with the mission to rescue Anna, leads An Na and Jain to the rooftop. However, An Na tearfully says, “How could I leave by myself?”. Hee Jo’s cryptic line, “You have to create a new humanity. All we have is you”, piques curiosity about what mission will be entrusted to An Na.
In this way, the desperate struggle of those facing humanity’s ultimate challenge, fighting to protect their last hope, offers an immersive tension that doesn’t let up for a single moment.
The Great Flood premieres on December 19, only on Netflix.
