Koo Jun-yup Opens Up to Local Media for the First Time: “I Often Dream of Late Wife Barbie Hsu”

According to local reports, Koo Jun-yup recently visited Jinbaoshan Cemetery, where Barbie Hsu’s remains are interred, accompanied by close Korean friends. He reportedly stayed for about an hour at her gravesite. Since Hsu’s passing, Koo has been making regular visits to honor her memory.

When asked by a reporter if he often dreams of his late wife, Koo answered immediately in English: “Of course.” Though brief, it marked the first time he publicly spoke about his feelings since her death.

Koo has also been seen sitting in front of the grave with a wide-brimmed hat and sketchpad, working on drawings. Sources revealed that he is preparing a sculpture of Barbie Hsu, using these sketches as inspiration while communicating with friends for ideas. He often brings her favorite snacks, candles, and couple photos to the site.

Hsu’s mother previously shared that the sculpture will be based on artwork created by Koo himself, saying it will be “truly beautiful.” According to media outlets, the memorial statue is expected to be completed by next year to coincide with the first anniversary of Hsu’s passing.
