IU is being praised again after a staff member from the upcoming K-drama Wife of a 21st Century Prince shared a heartwarming story about the idol-actress.
A staff member from the upcoming MBC K-drama, Wife of a 21st Century Prince, revealed that IU generously gifted every crew member a ₩500,000 (approx. $355) department store voucher for the Chuseok holiday (Korean Thanksgiving). The post also revealed that the staff got extra gift packages in addition to the voucher.
This is not the first instance of IU treating her K-drama staff generously. For example, she gave the When Life Gives You Tangerines crew AirPods Max at Christmas and bought business-class tickets for her world tour staff last year. She also consistently supports numerous charities and helps those in need.
Meanwhile, Wife of a 21st Century Prince is currently busy filming. The K-drama is set in a 21st-century constitutional monarchy in Korea. The K-drama will focus on the romance between two royals, a conglomerate heiress frustrated with her commoner status and the son of a king, whose life is transformed after meeting her. The K-drama is a collaboration work of director Park Joon Hwa (Alchemy of Souls, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, and Because This Is My First Life) and writer Yoo A In.
IU will work alongside Byeon Woo Seok, Steve Noh, Gong Seung Yeon, and more.
The series will reportedly premiere in 2026.
This year, IU led the hit Netflix original K-drama When Life Gives You Tangerines. She showed great chemistry with co-stars Park Bo Gum, Moon So Ri, Park Hae Joon, Kim Yong Rim, Na Moon Hee, and more.
After two years with no fan meeting, IU reunited with Korean fans at the KSPO DOME on September 13 and 14 for her fan meeting, “Bye, Summer.” Adding to the excitement, she unexpectedly released her new single, also titled “Bye, Summer,” just months after her May mini-album, A Flower Bookmark, Pt. 3.
