My Hero Academia season 8 episode 4 showed All For One disappearing for good. Yet, is he actually dead? In the latest episode of the final season, AFO tried to use all his quirks at once; however, he was interrupted by Bakugo. Because of the powerful explosions, AFO kept rewinding till he became an infant.
AFO realized a little too late that he let his emotions get the best of him. Soon, all of his quirks began to vanish, and he rewound to the point of becoming a fetus, then a cell, till he completely disappeared into nothing.
Is All for One Dead for Good in My Hero Academia Season 8 Episode 4?
All For One might have disappeared for now, but this isn’t the last that the heroes see of him. In fact, the villain still has more fuel left for one last bout. At the same time, killing off the main villain by episode 4 would have been far too easy, leaving the rest of the episodes with nothing much to adapt.
After AFO disappears, Izuku will confront Tomura and his desire for destruction and defeat him in a battle of willpower. Yet, Shigaraki ends up making a fatal mistake, and his will begins to waver. This simple act is enough to cause AFO’s vestiges to re-emerge and swallow Shigaraki. Thus, AFO confidently reappears and laughs at his vessel, calling him foolish for losing in a battle of wills, especially against someone like Deku, whom he considers to be a nobody.
All For One regained control because of Shigaraki’s spiritual defeat in the subconscious realm. At the same time, Tomura begins to slowly disintegrate as All For One says that he ultimately amounted to nothing. This is the moment when AFO reveals how Shigaraki’s entire life was controlled by him.

Episode 5 Might Reveal Shigaraki’s Horrifying Backstory and AFO’s Manipulation

My Hero Academia Season 8, episode 5, might feature AFO spilling the beans on how he controlled Shigaraki his entire life. Shigaraki might think that he chose his own path, but in reality, his path was laid out by AFO right from the beginning, giving Shigaraki an illusion of free will just to take it away in the end.
AFO might confess how he was the one to convince Shigaraki’s father to have another child. He was the one who stole the original Quirk of Shigaraki and watched him grow up before bestowing the quirk of Decay upon him. It is because of All For One that Shigaraki has lost everything in life and was forced to walk down the path of darkness.
All For One created all the tragedies and ordeals that Tomura had to face. This is the last straw, which ultimately causes Tomura to lose control, and his mind shatters. Because of this verbal assault and the flood of memories from the past, Shigaraki loses control, letting All For One take full control of his body.
