Another absolute classic expanding its catalog on Netflix this month is Detective Conan, also known as Case Closed. Based on the manga written and illustrated by Gosho Aoyama, the series has been serialized since 1994, with its beloved anime adaptation premiering just two years later. Over the decades, it has become one of Japan’s most enduring and iconic mystery franchises, captivating audiences with its clever storytelling and ever-twisting cases.

The story follows Shinichi Kudou, a brilliant high school student renowned for his extraordinary detective skills and knack for solving even the toughest cases. One day, while tailing two suspicious men, Shinichi stumbles upon an illegal deal and is unfortunately caught in the act. The criminals force him to take an experimental drug meant to kill him, but instead, it transforms him into a seven-year-old boy. To hide his identity and continue investigating the shadowy organization responsible for his condition, Shinichi adopts the alias Conan Edogawa. From that moment on, he sets out to solve other crimes while secretly chasing the mystery behind his situation, hoping to one day reverse the effects. As of this month, Netflix has the Conan vs. the Dark Organization and Rivals of the Great Detective arcs on its catalog.
