Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown Talks Relationship With David Harbour

Millie Bobby Brown recently addressed her relationship with costar David Harbour, responding to renewed attention following reports of a past bullying complaint. The Stranger Things actress reflected on their close on-screen and off-screen bond. She described their connection as deeply meaningful despite prior controversy.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Brown said the relationship meant “so much” to her, noting that they “play father and daughter” on Stranger Things. “And similar to Noah [Schnapp] and [Winona Ryder], you have an amazing friendship,” she added. Schnapp agreed, calling his bond with Ryder “so special” and emphasizing that “the human connection” among the cast was “the most important part of the job.”

Their comments followed a Variety report confirming Netflix had conducted a months-long investigation into Brown’s complaint, which alleged harassment and bullying by Harbour. Deadline later reported that the incident happened earlier in the show’s run, noting that the production team addressed it promptly and confirmed there have been no issues since.

Netflix completed the inquiry before production on Season 5 and considered the matter resolved. Neither Netflix nor representatives for Brown or Harbour commented on the nature of the allegations.

After the Daily Mail report on November 1, Brown and Harbour attended the Stranger Things 5 premiere together in Los Angeles on November 6. They were seen hugging and laughing on the red carpet. Brown called Harbour “really special,” and he said he was “proud to watch all of them grow up.”

At the same event, new cast member Jake Connelly told TheWrap that Brown made him feel welcome on set. He recalled that she told him, “If you ever need anything, you can just call us.”

Netflix will release Stranger Things 5 in three volumes between November 26 and December 31, 2025.
