Emma Stone has been declared the most beautiful woman in the world according to the ancient Greek Golden Ratio of Beauty, in a recent scientific study.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Emma Stone ranked highest with a remarkable 94.72% facial symmetry score based on the mathematical principles of beauty established by the Greeks.
“Emma Stone is the winner. She scored highest for her eyebrows at 94.2%, and maintained strong scores across every category. She boasts an almost perfect jawline at 97% and beautifully balanced lips at 95.6%. Emma ranked first due to her consistent excellence in every facial metric tied to the golden ratio,” said Dr. Julian De Silva, head of the Centre for Facial Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery in London
Actress Zendaya came in second with a 94.37% match to the golden ratio. “Zendaya scored extremely well in most areas lips (99.5%), eyes (97.3%), forehead (98%) but lost points in the proportional spacing between her nose and lips, as well as brow shape,” Dr. De Silva noted.
Following Zendaya, Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto ranked third with a total score of 94.34%. Other notable names in the top rankings include Jenna Ortega, Margot Robbie, and Beyoncé. Chinese actress Tang Wei also made it onto the list, adding international diversity to the top beauty rankings.
The Golden Ratio is a mathematical concept developed by the ancient Greeks and used throughout history to define physical perfection. Leonardo da Vinci famously incorporated this ratio in his iconic Vitruvian Man to depict the ideal human form.
According to its principle, the closer a face or body is to the number 1.618 (Phi), the more aesthetically pleasing it is considered.
Last year, Dr. De Silva used the same Greek golden ratio to determine the most handsome men in the world. Actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson topped that list with a score of 93.04%, followed by Lucien Laviscount (92.41%), Paul Mescal (92.38%), and Robert Pattinson (92.15%).
