Ronda Rousey entered the WWE with a lot of hype in 2018. However, not many WWE fans would rate her among the most influential wrestlers in the promotion’s history. Moreover, the way Rousey parted ways with the WWE in 2023 kept the path to her comeback open.
Recently, a significant portion of the community started discussing Rousey’s return to the WWE to face Becky Lynch, but do those speculations have any link to reality? Let’s take a look.
The rumors about Rowdy’s return stem from one of her game streaming videos on her YouTube channel in August 2024. (via Ronda Rousey on Youtube) She stated:
Am I gonna come back to WWE? Definitely not full-time like before, but it’d be fun to team up with Shayna (Baszler) again. I even have our makeup speech written. But, who knows? I heard things are a lot better with Triple H.
With Triple H still at the helm as WWE boss, fans have used these comments at various points to speculate that she will return to WWE. However, Rousey addressed the rumors about her WWE return once more recently, which helps determine whether the speculations are authentic.

On October 30, 2025, Rousey appeared in an episode of the noted comedian Bert Kreischer’s YouTube podcast, Bertcast, which is the latest instance where she talked about her WWE return (via Bert Kreischer on YouTube). The former UFC Champion mentioned:
Yeah, [I wanted to return to the WWE after I left the first time in 2019]. I was like, ‘Oh, yeah. I’ll do it even better the next time.’ You know? But then I went back, it was like the death rows of the Vince McMahon era, and it was not what I expected.
So, I’m probably not going to be going back. I’m very grateful for the experience and what I was able to help the women do to get to the main event of Wrestlemania. But, you know, it’s not my circus, not my monkeys.
