Since pop icon Justin Bieber hasn’t been very active in producing new music or on tours recently, many people wanted to know what he was up to. Therefore, on his recent livestream on Twitch, the artist opened up about it, also revealing how he suffered a painful rib injury in the recent past. Talking about how he fell from his Onewheel skateboard with his friends, he said:
My rib hurts so bad, bro, you saw it happen, right? That s*it is hurting me bad, bro, I’m trying to play it cool. Chad, I fell on my side on that one-wheel and landed on my (hip), so even singing, laughing, everything hurts.
The Onewheel is a popular skateboard that has a single giant wheel in the middle, requiring the rider to balance on it, which demands precise skills to ride optimally. And in one of his attempts, the star may have stumbled at high speed and suffered the injury.
Justin Bieber Is Preparing on Twitch to Headline Coachella

Despite his absence from the music industry compared to his past career, his decision to start livestreaming on Twitch was unexpected to most people. Nonetheless, along with an attempt to connect with the Beliebers even more, he also revealed another motive for it.
According to a close source (via People), the livestreams are a way for the Sorry singer to prepare for his headlining performance at Coachella 2026. Thus, to prepare for it, he has decided to take to the streaming platform and practice, as well as receive real-time feedback from the chat.
On the October 31st livestream on Twitch, he also revealed why he hasn’t been doing as many tours and live performances as he used to.

He stated that he’s focusing on spending time with his family, including his wife, Hailey Bieber, and their son, Jack Blues. And in another livestream, he also revealed how, despite everything he received in the industry, he realised money and fame were transient, and now, he wants his platform to showcase his real self to the world truly.
Why Justin Bieber’s Decision to Livestream is Smart
This decision to start livestreaming on Twitch was significantly influenced by his prolonged absence from the spotlight, which needed to be rekindled before Coachella 2026. But more than that, as he stated earlier, he now wants to do more than just make commercial superhits in the industry.
With his most recent stream also marking the 10th anniversary of his album Purpose, it’s a way for him to connect with his fans and truly acknowledge their presence throughout his journey in the industry. Doing this isn’t just promoting his Coachella performance, but also re-establishing him as one of the GOATs of pop after a while.
The live stream also helps him gauge what might work in his performance and what won’t through the reactions and comments of the viewers, which will further help him structure his set and fine-tune it for the best experience. Thus, Bieber has successfully met all the expectations for his grand return at Coachella 2026.
