Is General Hospital alum Wes Ramsey making a Days of our Lives comeback?

When Days of our Lives released its new extended winter promo on November 25, eagle-eyed fans noticed a familiar soap opera face toward the end. It’s a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, but it appears that Wes Ramey, who was last seen on daytime as General Hospital’s Peter August, is making his Salem return.

Is Owen returning to Days of our Lives?

Ramsey’s face appears clear as day in a split-second moment toward the end of the promo when Steve (Stephen Nichols) grabs him and shouts, “Where’s my daughter?” DAYS fans will recall that Ramsey briefly played Owen Kent, a man obsessed with Stephanie Johnson (then played by Shelley Hennig, now played by Abigail Klein).

Owen even held Stephanie captive in a morgue, but Melanie (Molly Burnett), Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson), Bo (Peter Reckell), and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) came to her rescue. With Steve grabbing Ramsey’s character in the promo and demanding to know where Stephanie is, it seems logical that Ramsey is indeed playing the same character he brought to life in 2009.

Stephanie certainly seems to have a lot of men from her past who come back to haunt her. Last year, we met Bobby/Everett (Blake Berris). This year, Jeremy Horton (Michael Roark) returned. And it looks like 2026 will bring Owen back. However, a spokesperson for DAYS would not confirm the return. Instead, they told Soap Opera Digest that, “The fans will have to wait and see.”

Ramsey began his soap career on Guiding Light in 2000 as Sam Spencer, where he met the woman who would one day become his current girlfriend, Laura Wright (Carly Spencer, GH). His last daytime role was as General Hospital’s Peter August, from 2017 to 2022.

Peter August was a dreaded character who seemed to get away with everything, much in the way that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) now gets away with everything. Anna (Finola Hughes) believed he was her son for quite a while until she learned he was really the son of her sister, Alex Devane, and her mortal enemy, Cesar Faison (Anders Hove).

Peter also became obsessed with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). After he kidnapped her and took her all the way to Switzerland, Felicia (Kristina Wagner) rescued her daughter by whacking Peter over the head with a tire iron.
