Three men have sued Kevin Spacey for sexual assault

Kevin Spacey is set to face civil sexual assault claims from three men at the High Court in London in October 2026, according to the BBC. The civil lawsuits allege incidents occurred between 2000 and 2013. A judge suggested a provisional trial date of 12 October 2026, with the option to hold one combined trial or three consecutive trials. Spacey denies all allegations. He has formally denied two of the three claims and has not yet filed a defence in the third.

One claimant, referred to as LNP, alleges that Spacey “deliberately assaulted” him on about 12 occasions between 2000 and 2005. Another, known as GHI, claims he met Spacey at the Old Vic theatre in 2008 and that he “suffered psychiatric damage and financial loss” as a result of the alleged assault. The third man, Ruari Cannon, waived his right to anonymity. He alleges that Spacey groped him at a party following a press night performance of Sweet Bird of Youth at the Old Vic in 2013.

LNP and GHI accused Spacey during his 2023 criminal trial in London. The court acquitted Spacey of nine charges, including seven counts of sexual assault and two counts involving non-consensual sexual activity. GHI filed his original civil case in 2022, but the court paused it when the criminal proceedings began. Cannon appeared in the 2024 Channel 4 documentary Spacey Unmasked. Spacey rejected Cannon’s allegation, saying, “That is ridiculous and it never happened.”

Spacey previously acknowledged “bad behaviour” and being “too handsy” but rejected the term “grope.” His lawyer, Elizabeth-Anne Gumbel KC, proposed a joint trial to avoid multiple testimonies from the parties involved.
