Here’s how Ishqbaaz’s popular star Nakuul Mehta is making a woodcutter’s dream come true!
Nakuul Mehta, who plays Shivaay Singh Oberoi in Star Plus’s soap Ishqbaaz, appears to be one of those rare actors with a golden heart.
Today he is helping a 38-year-old woodcutter from Kerala, Anil Kumar, to achieve his dream. In this he is aided by lifestyle T-shirt brand, Moochawala and crowd-funding platform Fueladream.com through the #BhaagAnilBhaag campaign. Coming from humble beginnings which started from the small town of Palakkad in Kerala, Anil dreams of taking part in the Asian Masters Athletic Championships on September 2017 in China in September 2017 and has been selected to represent India multiple times, but needs to raise Rs.77,000 to be able to go to China. The #BhaagAnilBhaag campaign has currently raised over Rs. 24,000 till now.
Nakuul Mehta, lifestyle T-shirt brand, Moochawala and Fueladream.com looking at helping Anil to fulfil his dream by raising funds under the #BhaagAnilBhaag campaign. The funds will be generated via the proceeds from the sale of the Be Badasso T-shirt line. For every t-shirt sold, Moochwala will contribute the same to Anil’s campaign. People can help Anil by either buying a T-shirt from Moochwala (part of the proceeds will be donated then on Fueladream.com) or they can go directly to Fueladream.com and make a contribution. The brainchild of Ranganath Thota, FuelADream.com is a crowd-funding marketplace for people and organisations that aim to raise funds for creative ideas, causes, charities etc. and impact 2.2 billion people in India, Africa and S.E Asia.
Nakuul Mehta adds, “I believe Anil’s struggles are a testament to his unrelenting spirit. It would be such a pity if for the want of money, he’s not able to realize his dream of representing our country. Be Badasso, for us, is the millennial analogy and physical expression of Anil’s dream and his efforts. My aim is to make sure we use our collective goodwill and be Anil’s totally badass extended family by helping raise enough funds for him to go compete in China and make his family – us – beam with pride.”
