It is no longer Govinda and Chunky Pandey reprising their roles from David Dhawan’s 1993 blockbuster Aankhen, though let’s straighwaay confess that the zany duo may make a guest appearance in the sequel to go on the floors in the second-half of 2016.
However the core cast of Bunnu and Munnu played by Govinda and Chunky Pandey has passed on to two youngsters.
David Dhawan’s star-son Varun who is an unabashed Govinda fan will play Govinda’s role in Aaankhen 2. Chunky Pandey’s role will go to a newcomer whom producer PahlajNihalani discovered on a flight.
While an official announcement on the long-awaited sequel is awaited a source close to development reveals, “Aankhen 2 will take the story forward. The main characters Bunnu and Munnu will remain the same. The actors will change.”
