Actress Finally Speaks Up About Her Decision Not To Divorce Her Husband Who Was Involved In “Burning Sun”
She got extremely emotional.
Actress Park Han Byul is set to return to the screen after six years, and she will be addressing some heavy topics, including her decision to stay married to her husband despite his involvement in the Burning Sun Scandal.

On April 1, TV Chosun released a preview of its upcoming episode of With Father And Me, featuring an emotionally charged appearance of Park Han Byul. The actress was accompanied by her father, who had been a steady presence in her life throughout the most challenging moments.
Park stepped away from the entertainment industry in 2019 when the infamous Burning Sun Scandal broke. Her husband, an executive involved in the case, was implicated in the case. The actress took the decision to move away from Seoul and settled in Jeju with her family, disappearing from the spotlight altogether.
Recalling that chaotic time, Park mentioned that “every day felt like hell,” as she couldn’t do anything but helplessly see her name dragged everywhere, including in the media and strangers’ personal conversations.
During these tumultuous times, Park also faced extreme pressure to break off her marriage from the public, as well as from those who were around her. The actress recalled through tears, “Even my mother-in-law cried and asked me to divorce him for my own sake.”
Despite the mounting pressure, she chose to stay married to her husband and stood by her family. Though the preview didn’t reveal her reason behind this decision, it teased that she would be explaining her choice and the emotional journey that came after.
Meanwhile, Park Han Byul has been living her life in Jeju while running a cafe and posting on YouTube. Read more about her life after stepping out of the spotlight here:
