Baaghi 2, the Hindi version  of  last year’s Telugu hit Kshanam doesn’t star the film’s original leading man Adivi Shesh who not only helmed Kshanam  but also co-wrote the screenplay.

In fact, reveals Adivi, he was a  major force behind the  entire project. And therefore when producer Sajid Nadidawala bought the remake rights in Hindi,  it was understandably presumed that Adiviwould make his Hindi debut with the Kshanam remake.

However when the project was announced in Hindi entitled Baaghi 2it starred not Adivi Shesh but Nadiadwala’s protégé Tiger Shroff  in the role of the NRI who is persuaded back home  after his former girlfriend’s  daughter is kidnapped.

Naturally , Adivi is unhappy about the  turn of events. But he hides his  disappointment in not being in  the Kshanam remake.

Says  Adivi, “Tiger  is by now a well-known actor in Hindi cinema. My body  of work so far has  been in the South. Besides, it’sSajid Saab’s prerogative as far as how he wanted  Kshanam to  be remade. My goal is to keep delivering resonant performances.”

Adivi is  content  with  the way his career  is going. “ I am happy with  how my new  film  the spy thriller  Goodachari has shaped up.It feels good.Something new…something  I haven’t attempted before .It is tonally very different  . Kshanam was  a lot darker. Goodachari is  more ambitious. It is  a personal story  told on bigger scale than Kshanam. Also, the plot spreads itself across South Asia.In India we  shot in South Delhi, Assam , Meghalaya and some seaports  of  Bangladesh. All in all I am happy.”

Interestingly Adivi Shesh is not the only Telugu star producer SajidNadiadwala has disappointed. For  the remake of  the Telugu blockbuster Kick the original lead Ravi Tejaa felt he was perfect.

Nadiadawla  preferred his buddy superstar Salman Khan.
