No more multiple-hero films for Aditya Roy Kapoor who has shaped into a fine actor, physically and emotionally. The mirror must be agreeing with Aditya as we hear he has decided to do only solo-hero films from now on.
The first of the new solo-hero phase in Aditya Roy Kapoor’s career is Ahmed Khan’s Om The Battle Within.
And why not? Malang worked like a charm Aditya. It was the last boxoffice hit before the Covid lockdown. One would have thought Aditya would would immediately say yes to Malangdirector Mohit Suri’s next .
But no.Aditya said no to Mohit’s Ek Villain because John Abraham had a better part in the plot.
Says a friend of the actor’s, “In Sadak 2 Aditya was reduced to a prop while Sanjay Dutt hogged every frame. Aditya said yes to Sadak 2 because he can’t say no to Mahesh Bhatt. The Bhatts gave Aditya his biggest hit Aashiqui 2. In Ludo he has to share the limelight with Abhishek Bachchan and Rajkummar Rao. But from now on, Aditya will only be seen in solo-hero films.”
Says Aditya, “With Malang having done well of course certain new opportunities present themselves. But I think on account of the role being so different from what I’ve done before people are thinking of me in ways they weren’t before they saw me in Malang . Which is exciting . “
