She’s Now The Pivotal  Character

With time, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has become so much more focused on her career that her dedication to the one  part that she has on her plate has impressed the producer Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra  enough to give the actress more space in Fanney Khan, the Mehra production directed by  debutant Atul Manjrekar.

“She now has a far more important role than the actress who played her part  in the original film,” says a source  close to the film.

For those who came  in late, Fanney Khan is  the official Indian remake  of  the Dutch filmEverybody’s Famous. Aishwarya  plays  the role of  a superstar singer, originally played by Thekla Reuten.

“It was  always  one  of  the pivotal characters. But now Aishwarya has been given far more  importance  in the script than what the original actress got. Aishwarya  plays a singer. She has  four songs and she will sing  on screen  for  herself for the  first time,” says a source close to the project.

Aishwarya never brings her motherly duties on  the sets

The source also adds that Aishwarya never brings her motherly duties on  the sets. “She is all there for  Aaradhya. She even  takes her to school every day personally and fetches her. But otherwise she focuses completely  on  her work and allows no distractions.Only calls from home are attended to while she is  on  the sets.”

While  refraining  from commenting on  her enhanced role in Fanney Khan Aishwarya says,  “I was   very sure that whenever I decided to work after my daughter Aaradhya’s birth it would have to be only when I can concentrate fully  on  my work.I didn’t want to be….distracted? No divided. It’s always a  hundred percent  of me in whatever  I do.”

Aishwarya  also mentions she  will do only one film at a time. “Because that’s about all I can do justice to , given my  priority is my daughter.”

Lately Aishwarya also has to devote more time to her mother who  after Aishwarya’s father’s death  lives alone.

Apparently  many filmmakers are turned away because of Aishwarya’s limited time-width allotted to her acting and other assignment including global events and endorsements.

However she   is apparently seriously considering the offers from Rakeysh Ompraksh Mehra,Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar and Gauri Shinde.
