Ajay Devgan Is The Narrator In  Mani Ratnam’s  Film

Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan is one  of  the most eagerly awaited films in recent times. Its vast  cast and illimitable stretches  of historic narration needed a  sutradhaar .

Ajay Devgan has been  roped  in  as the narrator.

According to a well-placed source, the  film which is  2 hours 47 minutes long was earlier  longer. It had to be  pruned to   fit  into  the multiplex timings . After  the   length  was  cut down the  film needed  a connecting voice.

 This is where  Ajay Devgan came in .  Devgan  provides the  explanations on the  soundtrack to join the  dots in the  plot.

Apparently he  refused  any fee for  the  job. Devgan and Ratnam have  worked together in  the underrated Yuva. They will be collaborating  for Ratnam’s next project after  the  two  segments  of  Ponniyin Selvan are  out.
