It was recently announced that Ali Fazal will be seen in the Hindi remake of the cult classic Telugu film, Prasthanam, along with Sanjay Dutt. The Victoria and Abdul actor will play Dutt’s son in the remake taking on the most pivotal role in the remake.
Ali Fazal has been open about his admiration for Sanjay Dutt right from the beginning of his career in acting. A true fan of the star, Ali was more than happy to be cast in a role much different than ones he has done before. And to show just how much he was looking forward to working with the Dutt, Ali did not even read the script of the film given to him by the original director, Dev Katta, who is also helming the remake, before signing it.
A source said, “Ali only met Deva and the team once and he was ecstatic with the role offered to him. He only heard the main gist of the story and his role and was immediately on board”.
Prasthaanam goes on floors tomorrow on the occasion of Nargis Dutt’s Birthday and will be produced by Sanjay Dutt Productions, marking the Munnabhai actor’s return to production after 7 years.
