Virus be damned. It’s been a beautiful birthday for Alia Bhatt, filled the fun flowers, frolic, and feline friends.
True the party Karan Johar planned for Alia Bhatt had to be cancelled because of the Corona scare, but the day has been just perfect for the birthday girl, thank you very much!
She is God’s own child… Beautiful, talented, effortless, simple and generous. Alia Bhatt is everyone’s favourite. I don’t know of anyone who isn’t fond of her, so much that she can work her magic across the board bringing arch-rivals Karan Johar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali in her range of vision.
While she continues to reign supreme as the most favorite female actor in Bollywood, recent months have not been too fun-filled for her. After the success of Gully Boy in January 2019 Alia faced a massive flop in Karan Johar’s Kalank. Thereafter she is trapped shooting for 4 mega-thon projects by directors known to take their own sweet time in making films. One of these happens to be her own father Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2 which I hear is delayed because Sanjay Dutt who plays the lead is going through an extremely low phase at the boxoffice.
That leaves her with Ayan Mukerjee’s expensive sci-fi Brahmastra produced by her mentor Karan Johar where she teams up with real-life boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor for the first time, and Ranbir’s mentor Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. Both are iffy projects for Alia. Brahamastra is a marathon whose shooting seems to go on and on.
As for Bhansali’s film , most trade experts feel she is miscast as a gangster. “You can’t cast Shirley Temple as Mata Hari,” says a leading filmmaker.
Her third part in Rajamouli’s RRR is as good as a guest appearance. Ironically Karan Johar, Bhansali and Rajamouli were the three directors on her wishlist when she decided to become an actor.
On the personal front, Alia hoped to be married to Ranbir this year. But his father’s health has put marriage plans on hold.
Perhaps after an uninterrupted stream of triumphs, God decided to let the sunshine slacken a bit.Never mind , Alia Bhatt, you will forever remain the sunshine girl of Bollywood,
