If you’re considering signing up for or switching down to Netflix’s advertising tier in the US, be aware that 138 titles are blocked (1.85% of the total library of 7,467 titles), making them unavailable to watch. Below is the list of titles you won’t be able to stream on Netflix’s advertising tier as of October 2025.
Launched in November 2022, Netflix’s ad tier notably had a few drawbacks. The biggest issue was that many big titles, including Netflix Originals, were unavailable to watch and continued to be blocked. When the ad tier first launched, 5.1% of titles were unavailable (326 out of the 6,324 available). A few months later, in February 2023, it was 5.4% of the library (348 titles out of 6,444 available). On February 7, 2024, only 175 titles were unavailable in the Netflix US library, representing a 50% decrease from the previous year. As of December 2024, the percentage has reduced again, with 151 titles, representing 2% (a fall from 2.1% in November 2024) of the overall library of 7,381 titles.
Why the drop in December 2024? The majority of the interactive specials from DreamWorks were unavailable in the ad tier and were all pulled on December 1st.
House of Cards is unavailable on the Netflix ad tier.
Who are the big holdouts still? The two most significant are Universal and Sony. In the case of Universal, it’s their TV output, with most of that being their vast library of DreamWorks Television shows that have been exclusively available on Netflix. In Sony’s case, it’s their movies that are unavailable. That includes their first-window titles, which come to Netflix following their theatrical run or from their vast array of back catalog.
