Saket Chaudhury’s Hindi Medium which brings Pakistan’s Saba Qamar to Bollywood , just got more exciting. The intrepid Amrita Singh has joined the already-interesting cast.
Interestingly the film is produced by Amrita’s former husband Saif Ali Khan’s former production partner Dinesh Vijeyan.
After playing a series of roles as a boisterous Punjabi mother Amrita play a completely different role, that of the antagonist in Hindi Medium.
Says the actress who is currently shooting for the film in Delhi , “All I can say is,I am playing someone totally unexpected in this film.Audiences will be shocked.”
Amrita has played negative/grey roles earlier in Aaina , Kalyug and Aurangzeb.
Speaking of Aurangzeb, her co-star Arjun Kapoor from that film, is all set to play Amrita’s son in Anees Bazmi’s Mubaraka.After 2 States this is the second time that Amrita playsArjun Kapoor’s boisterous Punjabi mother.
Amrita promises the two mothers would be different characters. Incidentally she gets together with her old Chameli Ki Shaadi co-star Anil Kapooor in Mubaraka.
Says Amrita enthusiastically, “Anil is an old buddy. I am looking forward to great work and fun in Mubaraka.My role in this film is totally crazy.”
